Block Bloom: how to play, score, and plan ahead

Block Bloom is a block puzzle on an 8x8 garden. Each round gives you three pieces in a tray. Drag one onto the garden; the moment a whole row or column is filled it blooms and clears. Fill rows and columns at the same time for combo bonuses. The round ends when none of your three pieces can fit.

What is Block Bloom

Block Bloom is the classic block-filler puzzle made calm: an 8x8 garden, a tray of three pieces, and one rule — pieces land where you put them, rows and columns that become fully filled bloom and clear. There is no gravity, no timer, and no pressure beyond the level target. It is a spatial-planning game: leave the board open, keep corner shapes for later, and stack blooms on purpose.

How a round works

  1. Three pieces wait in the tray. Every piece is a different shape.
  2. Drag a piece (or select it and tap a cell) to place it on the garden.
  3. When a whole row or a whole column is filled, it blooms — every tile in it clears and scores.
  4. The tray refills with three new pieces after every third placement.
  5. Reach the level target to advance. If none of your three pieces can fit anywhere, the round ends.

Scoring and combos

Every placed cell is worth 10 points. Each bloomed line adds 40 points, and every consecutive move that clears at least one line raises the combo multiplier by 25 per step. A single placement that clears two lines at once pays both bonuses — that is the fastest way to climb the level target.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Block Bloom.

When does the round end?

The round ends when none of the three pieces in your tray can fit anywhere on the garden. In timed mode it also ends when the 60-second clock runs out.

What is a bloom?

A bloom happens when a row or a column becomes fully filled. The entire line clears in one move and scores a line bonus. Clearing two lines in the same placement counts as a combo.

Can I rotate pieces?

No. Every piece comes with a fixed rotation, and the tray mixes vertical and horizontal shapes. Planning around the shapes you get is the core of the game.

Is Block Bloom related to Block Blast?

Block Bloom shares the classic 8x8 fill-and-clear formula popularised by block puzzle games, but it is an original game with its own scoring, difficulty pools, and modes - built for TapLoop Arcade.
